Rev. Abel Ukachi Amadi had his primary school education at Central School, Egbu, Owerri, and his secondary education at Comprehensive Secondary School, Egbu, where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1980. He also obtained his General Certificate of Education (GCE) in November 1980.

He obtained a Diploma in Theology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Education from the Assemblies of God Divinity School of Nigeria, Umuahia, Abia State. He later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and a Master’s degree in Education (M.Ed.) from the University of Calabar, Cross River State, specializing in Educational Administration and Planning. Rev. Abel Amadi also obtained a second Master’s degree in Religion (M.A. Rel.) from Imo State University, Owerri, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Religious and Cultural Studies.

Rev. Amadi has won many awards as a highly successful church administrator for well over forty years, including a conferment as Justice of the Peace (JP) by the Imo State Government. He is the founder of a flourishing secondary school, Evangel Model Secondary School, Owerri, Imo State. He served as the Pioneer District Superintendent of Owerri East, Assemblies of God, from 2009 until November 2022, when he was overwhelmingly elected General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Nigeria, with oversight responsibility for about three million members and over sixteen thousand pastors, as well as numerous churches, primary and secondary schools, a university, a printing press, and other institutions of the Church.
